Hi there all…..well California is in it again.  With yet another fire close by, the familiar stench of smoke fills the air here in Santa Barbara.  My heart aches for our state of distress and for all those who are experiencing direct effects from these massive fires!  This is sadly our “new normal” here and we are urged to always be on alert for the next one! On a daily basis, we send much gratitude to the firefighters statewide who are responding and putting their lives at risk to help others.

On a different subject, I am happy to have recently finished a group of three small blocks that I was suddenly inspired to create a few weeks back.   I just started with a color palette, as I often do, of scraps that I had.

That turned into a block I really loved, I’m calling it Convergence.  I had enough scraps left so decided to create another.  I much prefer odd numbers, so realized I needed one more to feel complete about it.

So I turned over every scrap box searching for just the right off white linen scrap that I needed!!

I was lucky enough to scavenge just the littlest bits and make them work to my satisfaction!

The strip with text comes from a vintage feed sack I found at a quilt show many years ago!  Not sure what is next for these three but for now I am satisfied to have them greet me on my design wall each time I go to work……they’ll tell me what they need eventually!
