Last night, after putting the littles to bed, I was able to begin this pattern in front of the warm glow of the fire (I know, I didn’t get very far).  As if I need another knitting project right?  But this lovely Honey Cowl is a one I have wanted to start on for a while now and after a couple of rainy, dreary days here, I was drawn to this sunny, rich yellow, hand dyed, Araucania merino wool, which I had left over from an earlier project.   Luckily I  only used a bit of it,  so I hope to have enough for my cowl.

Honey Cowl on the needles

It looks to like we are in for a rainy, cold weekend here so I hope to make some good progress on this little cowl….. that is if I can fit it in between quilting projects as well as several games of Uno and some marble maze building with the family.  Oh and my oldest daughter is all set to give me a refresher course on crocheting- she’s learning how in school this year!   There is something so cozy about the combination of rainy days by the fire and a “yummy” knitting project on the needles.

Hope your weekend is filled with some creative goodness and the joy of being with family/friends!

I’m linking up today to Natural Suburbia’s Creative Friday!
