I found these adorable ornament gifts on Pinterest recently and knew I wouldn’t be able to get through the season without finding an excuse to make at least one. There is something about the holiday season, that puts me in a very cutesy, craftsy sort of mood.
I needed to find a really good excuse because as you can see, my work space had…. uuhhhh, just a few other things going on. Is there an online contest for messiest sewing room by chance? I fear I would certainly win!!
Anyway, the excuse came again in the name of a certain much loved teacher that still needed a little holiday thank you gift. I quickly got to work, saying to myself that this was definitely THE LAST project I will do before cleaning off my table!!!
I started in the morning when the girls were at school…..
and was able to have this little guy finished by the next morning, with just a little night time hand embroidery. Since my vision of a snowman needed a larger canvas, it turned into a lovely wall decoration rather than a tree ornament. I just love him so, I may have a hard time parting with him.
Not sure about the black thread. This is the first one on these I’ve made and will make some minor changes on the next one.
But overall, I’m thrilled with the end result and it was a fun little project.
Oh and in case you’re wondering, I did indeed clean off that ridiculous mess of a cutting table. Next project– binding this quilt, the one waiting patiently over there on the right.
