I’ve been heads down at my machine this last week trying to finish up the quilting on this wall hanging.
This little experiment has gone from this giant layout to this little wall hanging (more on why in a later post). I’m still not sure about binding, likely I’ll choose white all around. I need to square it up a bit and get over the fact that it’s not laying totally flat- grrrr!
Overall though I’m kind of loving it. It will be a great little wall hanging size, about 34 inches square. Once I get it bound I’ll add a sleeve and get it on the wall properly!
I also started on a new design that I’m really excited about. Can you tell where this one is going? I am, like many of my designs, sort of figuring it out as I go along, and because I’ve learned my lesson about doing that with fabric I love, I decided to use a color combo and some colors I don’t go to very often and was happy to use up. Although I must say, that Kona Tangerine is really growing on me. I ended up having to order more as it will be the background color for this quilt/wall hanging!
I also made some slow progress with my scrappy projects! Miss A’s Scrappy String Quilt is coming together, I think I’ve shown that one a bunch already. And my scrappy HST pillow top is taking shape too. Just the bottom two rows to go. I love the way it’s turning out, but I must say, I’m definitely more of an improv kind of gal. Whheeew, all that precision and pinning is stressful for me! ;-)
I’m linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced! You should see her new blocks for the Summer Sampler Series- Wow! Welcome if you’re coming from there and thanks for visiting!

Looking pretty gorgeous over here. All the lines in that first one really set it off. Beautiful work.
Hi Karen yes you still are ‘no reply’. When my comment comes to your inbox and you click reply, there should be an e-mail address for me. When I click reply to your comment in my inbox, it says ‘no reply’. Wish I knew what to tell you. It would have to do with your blog dashboard. Perhaps there is an ‘edit’ button and you could fix it? Hope it helps. You do have an e-mail address on your ‘about’ page, so people can get in touch that way. ; )
I love your triangles. I’m finding that I enjoy the improv projects more too because the are less stressful.
I love the large triangles and the scrappy string quilt. Wonderful job on all your pieces
wow three great looking projects. I would have trouble picking a favorite.
Everything is looking fresh and beautiful as usual. I especially love the triangle quilt and every color you used there
Thanks so much! I’m really drawn to those colors too, but I find triangles tricky to work with!
