So my machine is gathering dust, my “tools” have been put away. It’s like a ghost town in my sewing studio. Do you ever get into that creative “funk” that you just can’t seem to shake yourself out of? I’m deep in it these days.
I realize that it’s temporary; life has simply become too busy at the moment to allow for sewing projects. Instead it is filled with…
{our school’s annual May Day Dance}
school fundraisers, festival, meetings,
birthday parties, family obligations, etc. All the sweet stuff that life holds!!
I am enjoying these precious moments with family and friends and trying to surrender to the flow of life as it is- without a single ongoing sewing project. Since I’m not feeling much inspiration these days, that’s not been all that hard.:-)
Of course, having just received this heaping splurge in the mail the other day(thank you Fabricworm and Denyse Schmidt), I’m not sure how long that surrender will last! A good little breather shall we say?
Hope you enjoy a lovely weekend!

I’m sure your mojo will come flooding back soon! Looks like you’ve been having some amazing days though!
p.s. Love your sweater in the first pic!
Great post!
Karen, your sewing mojo must be temporarily covered up by other creative mojo, I have little doubt it will come back soon and you’ll be wowing us with a new gorgeous quilt or garment or ________. In the meantime you’re putting your creativity into celebrations and composing the most gorgeous photos – I LOVE the top photo in this post. THAT is artistic composition baby! I think your creativity has just been redirected for a bit.
I have some FMF too, haven’t decided what to do with it, and I only purchased some of the prints, not the entire line. I just love some of them though!
That happened to me a few months ago and thought it would never end ~ but it does and I’m happily sewing away. I’ve lost my knitting mojo tho ~ hope it will come back soon because I’ve got lots to knit!
The May Day celebration looks like it was a hit!
I love the sweater you have on in the first picture. Did you knit it?
